OSHA bloodborne pathogens training is required annually for direct-care staff who may have occupational exposure.
Under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030, staff with reasonably anticipated exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials must be trained on bloodborne pathogens, and that training renews annually.
Don't confuse it with the FDOH HIV/AIDS course. Bloodborne Pathogens is an OSHA course (in-house or third-party) and is annual; HIV/AIDS 101 is a separate, one-time APD requirement. They are two different items.
