CPR & First Aid Renewal for APD Group Homes (Every 2 Years)

Applies to
Per role / service
How often
Every 2 years

CPR and First Aid certification renews every two years for staff whose role requires it.

Standard CPR and First Aid certification (Red Cross, AHA, or ASHI) is valid for two years. Which staff need it depends on role and service type.

A lapsed CPR card is one of the single most common quiet findings — it expires on a specific date printed on the card, and that date rarely lines up with any onboarding anniversary you'd naturally remember.

The card expires on a fixed printed date, not a round anniversary. That mismatch is exactly why lapses sneak through.
