APD Group-Home Fire Extinguisher Service Requirement (Annual)
- Applies to
- Every group home
- How often
- Annual
Each fire extinguisher needs an annual service tag from a licensed contractor. The tag is your proof — a missing or expired one is an easy finding.
Portable fire extinguishers are serviced annually by a licensed contractor, who leaves a dated service tag (NFPA 10). That tag is the evidence a reviewer looks for.
It's a simple item that fails on paperwork, not capability — the extinguisher may be perfectly fine, but an expired or missing tag reads as non-compliant.
The tag is the proof. An expired or missing service tag is a finding even if the extinguisher itself is fine.
