For unlicensed direct-care staff at a Chapter 393 facility, the FDOH HIV/AIDS 101 course is a one-time requirement — not a two-year renewal.
F.S. 381.0035 requires a one-time HIV/AIDS course for Chapter 393 facility employees. Once it's done, it's done.
The widely-repeated 'every 2 years' belief comes from a different rule: the biennial HIV/AIDS continuing education under F.S. 456.033 applies to licensed health-care practitioners at relicensure — not to unlicensed direct care staff. Tracking a renewal that doesn't exist creates phantom 'overdue' noise; the real risk is never logging the one-time course at all.
